It happens to me every time when I host a raid.
Althoug I only have 5 slots, I get about 8-10 friend requests.

I'm so sorry for everyone whom I can't invite them :/

Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening?

    When one of your guests cancel (even after they raided) other trainer replace them.
    You can prevent it by tapping end button beside your name.

    If you mean your list has 5 people and you received request from more, they give your friend code to others and you don’t need to invite those who are not on your list.
    You can select who to invite by copying the list and paste it to search your friends.
